Tank Top, small | Linen Wide Leg Pants | Straw Tote
Since this year is the year of less, I’ve leaned heavily into the idea of the capsule wardrobe. Of course I still have some fun, unique pieces, but for almost every single day, I find myself reaching for these basics. They always look great and I feel confident and stylish every time I put them on!
One item I knew I needed this summer was a good ribbed tank top. They’re lightweight, go with everything and allow the arms to breathe. I know not everyone loves to have their arms out, but I’m a tank top girl through and through.
So, the search began.
You’d think it wouldn’t be that hard, but every one I tried on fit slightly different. One had loose armholes that made my bra show way too much. Some were $75+ and honestly I just can’t justify paying that much for something I’m sure only cost $5 to make. I’m not against buying quality, but what I’ve found lately is that a high price tag doesn’t always equate to quality—anyone else feel this way? Plus, a tank top? Ahhh sorry, I’m just not there yet.
But I came across one tank top that was $20, had great reviews and everything I was looking for, so I tried it out.
Tank Top, size small | Trousers, size 4 | Sneakers | Woven Bag
Low and behold, this one on Amazon fits like a dream. I love how it cuts in slightly on the sides just under your collarbone, it’s fitted, but not too tight and the length is great for tucking into trousers, jeans, skirts and shorts. It comes in a bunch of colors too.
The only catch is that your normal bra doesn’t quite work with it. Which isn’t exactly surprising. Plenty of tank tops require something a little different. You could definitely wear a strapless bra with it, but little known fact about me—I DESPISE strapless bras! Actually, strapless anything is a hard no for me, but I digress.
For me, these nipple covers are my absolute go-to all summer long. I did recently come across these non-adhesive ones and I’m very intrigued. I think they might only work with a fitted shirt, but definitely more comfortable to remove than your normal sticky nippies. If you’ve tried the Cakes, I’d love to know what you think!
Grab this tank any thank me later ;)
